Today I'm doing a little better. My parents have been with all day. I've been put on 4 different medications to controll my heart rate and blood pressure. My parents have made sure that everytime I open my eyes or get my fingers pricked, one of them are there to hold my hand and let me know they love me. around 5pm this evening, I had a case of SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) which is when your heart either beats to fast or to slow. My heart started to beat more than 300 beats per minute. My parents were there the whole time. My mom started to get really worried and my dad was there to comfort to her. All of my doctors were there to see what was going on and made a quick decision to give me a medicine called ADENOSINE which works in 3 seconds and brought my heart rate back to normal. 30 minutes later, I had another case of SVT and was given the medicine once again. The Cardiologist viewed the chest x-ray that I had when my line was put in and noticed that it was too close to my heart. They called the PICU team in to pull it back a little. They came in right away and it took almost an hour to complete. Now my parents are scared to leave out of the room because they want to make sure that won't happen again. They also decided to take out my breathing tube tonight and it came out around 9pm. My parents finally left out of the room to go sleep in the waiting room around 12:30am Day 5......
